The Oxford Artisan Distillery & Chalgrove Distillery

Gin may quite possibily be one of the UK's most-loved spirits. With such a wide range of flavours and types to choose from, it's not hard to see why the juniper berry based alcoholic drink is one of the most popular summer tipples.

The Oxford Artisan Distillery

Gin & tonic with a twist

In the summer months there is nothing we love more than our gin and tonic with a spectacular twist. Our Oxford Rye Organic Dry Gin is at the heart of many of the cocktails at our bar at our distillery on the edge of Oxford’s South Park. We are very proud of it; this year it was certified 100% organic by the Soil Association and, like all of our delicious spirits, it is born and bred in Oxfordshire using ancient heritage grains grown exclusively for us at five farms within 50 miles of Oxford.

You don’t need a lot for this refreshing drink, but it makes for a very special aperitif.

Method

Pour 25ml of Oxford Rye Organic Dry Gin into a highball with ice. Add tonic as you like – we recommend Elderflower or Mediterranean - and then top with 25ml of Ver Viola Gin. Ver Viola is naturally infused with organic butterfly pea flower and organic rose, and takes your gin and tonic to vivid new heights, changing from deep violet to pink when added to tonic. Finally, garnish with a wheel of lemon. Sit back and enjoy.

Oxford’s George Street has seen plenty of eateries come and go over the years, but its recent addition, Rosa's Thai has made an indelible mark on the city, charming us with its welcoming atmosphere, sensational food, and what may honestly have been the best service either of us have had before.
