Christmas at Yarnton Home & Garden

Ox Homes recently caught up with Bryony Taylor-Edwards, Yarnton Home & Garden’s Head of Brand, to talk all things Christmas, sustainability, and what’s on over the festive season.

Located just North of Oxford, Yarnton Home and Garden has undergone a large transformation over the last four years. Taking it from a tired garden centre to a new home and garden concept store. If you have not visited, it is well worth the journey. The lovely Café and incredible shopping experience do not disappoint. We wanted to find out why you should take a trip this Christmas.

What makes Christmas special at Yarnton Home & Garden?

Yarnton Home & Garden has always excelled at Christmas. For us, it is all about bringing family and friends together over the Christmas period for a joyful experience. Be that for a delicious festive meal, a trip to our magical family grotto, or to collect their Christmas Tree and have a hot chocolate en route. This year we have a whole new Christmas Shop located at the back our plant department. In it, you will find a whole array of stunning decorations and our Christmas Grotto. It is well worth a visit.

You have mentioned the Grotto, what else is there for children to do?

If you have not yet visited our Magic Garden play barn, then that is an absolute must. It is very popular with the locals and loved for its laid-back, spacious vibe. The team in the Magic Garden is busy hosting mini-events throughout the season. You can also grab a coffee and a bite to eat in the Magic Garden Café. Have a look online for the full overview of what’s on.

Are you doing anything to help those who are feeling the pinch this year?

Yes, times are tough, and we understand people are spending more cautiously. This year, we have made sure we have a great budget range of decorations and lights; we are also offering our loyalty card holders lots of juicy promotions throughout the season. On the gift side, I have made sure there are plenty of gifts for all the family under £10, and in the toy shop we have a great range of stocking fillers and pocket money toys.

Is sustainability on the agenda?

Sustainability is on our agenda all year round, and whilst we are not perfect, we are always working towards being better. We now have The Village Refill in store where you can refill all your household items including food and sweets. Across the store, you will find some fantastic gifts such as belts and bags made from recycled plastic bottles. Our Grotto this year has a very sustainable surprise element, but you will have to visit to find out!
