Whether you’re planning a country house wedding, a small beach ceremony or a traditional church service, there’s no doubt that you’ll have to make some adjustments to your 2020 wedding plans. But, that’s not to say that you can’t plan the wedding of your dreams! With lockdown measures starting to ease we’re here to help you embrace this ever-changing landscape and get your wedding plans back on track. You may be wondering if you can still have everything that you had planned but we’re here to help you to realise that your dream wedding is still very much a possibility.

Location, Location

Have you ever visited a venue and thought, ‘This would make a beautiful setting for the ceremony or reception but it’s just too small’? That tiny village church that oozes charm but has a max capacity of 40 or maybe your dream venue has a smaller ceremony room that you fell in love with but haven’t been able to use – now is the perfect time!

Maximise on décor

Us girls love our flowers, the bigger the better! Unfortunately, the bigger the display, the bigger the price tag and it is quite often one of the areas that takes up a significant chunk of the wedding budget. However, if you had a smaller room to fill or fewer tables to plan arrangements for, you could have flower arrangements to rival that of the royal weddings! Ahem, a towering flower arch is a must, obviously. A solid benefit of a scaled back wedding is maximising on quality and minimising on cost.

Make time for all of your guests

Speaking with engaged couples in the lead up to their big day, they do worry about spending time with all of their guests and will quite often plan in ‘reception lines’ or ‘table hopping’ to ensure that they speak to everyone. With a smaller wedding party, you will be able to spend quality time with all of your guests throughout the day without the worry that you have missed someone. There is something very special about having your closest loved ones beside you to celebrate a perfect day filled with love, support and memories to last a lifetime.

A Beautifully relaxed day

Guiding 100 guests from room to room or from a church to reception venue is not an easy task and usually one that requires the help of a Master of Ceremonies and a few ushers. Weddings can be chaotic, loud and exhilarating which is great, but the day often goes by in a blur of confetti and congratulatory kisses and you’re guaranteed to be exhausted by the end of it. A smaller wedding will certainly create a more relaxed, chilled atmosphere and give you the time to really soak in the day and allow your guests to celebrate with you as you become newlyweds.

The evenings are getting darker, and a hint of chill in the air means the garden is losing some of its allure. I’m getting ready to lounge. Slothing out – but make it stylish.
